A Letter To My Dad

imageDear dad,

You are the man who planted the seed to make my existence possible. You have been nothing short of a father. You have given me wisdom and invested in me since the time I was a little girl. You have always made me feel like I can do anything I put my mind to as well as my mom. As I look around and I see how many African American girls don’t have their dads in their life, I realize how blessed I am. I realized that God placed you with my mother for a reason. Even before I could understand, you would always tell me that God has a purpose for my life. Although I don’t know what that purpose is, I know and I believe that He surely does. I don’t feel like the average 20 year old. I see things that other people can’t see. I can look beyond anger and ridicule without losing my mind. You have taught me to be humble and never lose my faith. I’m not perfect and I know I have did some things with some people that I probably should’ve never been with but I am grateful. I am grateful to have a dad who loves me in spite of my flaws.

Thank You. I Love You.

Happy Father’s Day

-Your baby girl                                             Daniec
