Now if we fast forwarded three years from now, you might look at this date and say to yourself “Hmm, that must have been a very important date?” Well guess what?! It is. Want to know why? Because it’s today! The most important day ever is and will always be today. TODAY is the day that you decide to make a change. TODAY is the day that you decide that you’ve had enough of living in yesterday. I’ve always been one to procrastinate waiting for that right moment to make my move. Waiting for the right moment to speak up about something I didn’t agree with. Waiting for the right moment to come up with an idea so I that I could start writing a paper.
But as I waited, I realized that I was getting nowhere.
No matter how much you’re stressing, no matter how much money you don’t have, you always have to start SOMEWHERE. You can’t stay down forever because that will only lead you to self pity. And we all know that once we start to have pity on ourselves we start to give up. You have to be your biggest supporter. You have to believe what’s said to be impossible is possible. Today I decided to start a blog and write my first blog post. That was a goal that I felt I needed to accomplish after about three months of talking about it. I started to look up posts about writing and how to be creative. The one thing that I found most important was to make sure to be myself. Jeff Goins said it best. Not one other person in this world can tell my story like I can.
Also know that there is a difference between starting and finishing. If it wasn’t I probably wouldn’t still be in college right now. No one gets paid to only start the job. You receive the rewards when you finish. The common problem with us as human beings is that we always want to find the easiest way around to the reward. If it was that easy, then everybody would have it which means you most likely wouldn’t appreciate it as much. I’ve learned that it’s important to be honest with yourself. No matter what others around you are saying, when you learn to be honest with yourself, it’s nothing that you’ll have to hide. I used to spend a lot of my time reading articles about how people dealt with bad situations in their personal life. The first problem always seemed to be DENIAL. This is what keeps a lot of people in the situations that they truly don’t want to be in. They’re afraid to accept the truth. But when you learn to accept the truth and see things for the way are, you find your starting point for a 360 turn. LOOK UP. CHOOSE A PATH. AND GO. Because if you waste too much time deciding which way to go, you’ll get stuck and you’ll never go anywhere.
